  • Processing: Any operation performed on personal data, such as collection, storage, use, disclosure, or deletion.

  • Controller: The person or entity that determines why and how personal data is processed. For this App, the controller is Arun Hembram.

5. Information we collect and why

A. Files and content you open/upload (primary data)

  • What: PDF files you open, import, upload, or otherwise provide to the App, and the content inside them (text, form fields, images, metadata). This includes editable fields such as names, ages, dates, addresses, and any other information appearing in the PDF.

  • Why: To enable the App’s primary functions — viewing, editing, saving, annotating, and exporting PDFs. We only access and process that content when you open or edit the file inside the App.

B. Data you enter directly into the App

  • What: Any information you explicitly enter into the App, such as optional profile information or in-app form entries.

  • Why: To provide features you request, personalize your experience, or allow you to save user preferences.

C. Device and usage information (automatic)

  • What: Technical and non-personal information required for app functionality, performance monitoring, or advertising. This may include device type and model, operating system and version, app version, crash reports, and advertising identifiers (e.g., Advertising ID).

  • Why: To maintain and improve the App, fix bugs, analyze usage patterns, and support advertisement delivery and measurement.

D. Logs and diagnostics

  • What: App logs, crash reports, error traces, and performance metrics.

  • Why: To troubleshoot and improve the app’s reliability and performance.

6. How we use information (purposes)

We use the information described above for these purposes:

  1. Core app features: Open, render, edit, annotate, save, export, and print PDF files.

  2. Persistent edits: Save and apply edits you make (for example, changes to name, age, or other fields inside a PDF).

  3. Local file management: Manage files stored locally on your device in accordance with your actions (save, rename, delete, share).

  4. App maintenance and improvement: Diagnose bugs, analyze performance and usage trends, and develop new features.

  5. Advertising and monetization: Display and measure advertising through third-party networks such as AdMob. See Section 8.

  6. Customer support: Respond to support requests, inquiries or requests to access, correct, or delete data.

  7. Legal compliance and protection: Comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.

7. Storage, retention, and deletion

  • Local storage on your device: By default, PDFs and edits you save remain on your device until you delete them. These files are not automatically uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly use any cloud or sync feature that we may add in the future (with your consent).

  • No default cloud storage: PDF Editor currently does not provide automatic cloud backup or server-side storage for your files. If a cloud or sync option is later implemented, we will require explicit opt-in consent and update this Privacy Policy.

  • Retention if servers used: If server-side storage is used (only with your consent), we will retain the data for as long as necessary to provide the service or to comply with legal obligations. We will also implement deletion procedures upon verified requests.

  • User-controlled deletion: To delete local files, remove them from your device’s storage or within the App (if the App exposes a delete control). For deletion of any server-side data (if any exists), contact us at arunhembrom766254@gmail.com. We will verify and act on valid requests.

8. Advertising, analytics, and third-parties

  • Ad networks (AdMob / Google): The App displays ads served by third-party ad networks including AdMob (Google). These networks may collect certain technical information and advertising identifiers to serve and personalize ads, measure ad performance, and prevent fraud. Ad networks operate under their own privacy policies.

  • Analytics (if used): We may use analytics services to collect aggregated usage patterns and crash data. These services collect device and usage data to help improve the App.

  • No sale of personal data: We do not sell personal data or the content of your PDFs.

  • Limited sharing: We may share only the minimum required data with third parties to provide services (for example: crash reports to an analytics provider, or device identifiers to an ad network). We will not share the content of your PDFs with third parties except with your consent or as required by law.

  • How to limit ad personalization: Opt out of personalized ads at the device level using your device’s ad settings and privacy controls (for example, the Advertising ID control on Android). You may also consult Google’s Ad Settings or the privacy options provided by the ad provider for further controls.

9. Security measures

We implement reasonable organizational, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect information under our control, such as:

  • Access controls and authorization management.

  • Secure coding practices and regular updates.

  • Encryption in transit for any data sent over networks.

  • Device-level protections: recommend users employ device locks and secure backups.

Important: While we use appropriate measures to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a confirmed data breach affecting your personal information, we will follow applicable notification laws and notify you and regulators as required.

10. Children’s privacy

PDF Editor is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or the applicable minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a parent or guardian believes that their child under the applicable age has provided personal information without consent, please contact arunhembrom766254@gmail.com. We will promptly investigate and delete such data where required.

11. Your rights and choices (how to manage your data)

You have the following rights (depending on your jurisdiction):

  • Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data.

  • Deletion: Request deletion of personal data we control (subject to legal retention requirements).

  • Restriction: Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances.

  • Portability: Request a copy of your data in a commonly used format (if technically feasible).

  • Opt-out of profiling / personalized ads: Control ad personalization via device settings and ad network controls.

  • Lodge a complaint: If you believe we have not handled your request appropriately, you may contact the relevant supervisory authority in your country.

To exercise these rights, contact us at arunhembrom766254@gmail.com. We may ask you to verify your identity before responding. We will respond to verifiable requests in accordance with applicable law and typically within 30 days of verification; in some cases additional time may be required.

12. How to request deletion or data export — example process

  1. Email arunhembrom766254@gmail.com with subject line: “Data Request — PDF Editor” and include: your full name, email, a clear description of the request (e.g., “delete all my data” or “provide copy of my data”), and an identifier such as device ID if available.

  2. We will acknowledge receipt within a few business days and request any needed verification.

  3. After verifying your identity, we will comply with valid requests and inform you when completed. If legal or technical limitations apply, we will explain them.

13. International data transfers

Because we rely on third-party services (ad networks, analytics) that may operate internationally, data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your residence. Where required by law, we will ensure adequate safeguards are in place for transfers, such as contractual protections or other legal mechanisms.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our practices change or to comply with legal requirements. We will post the updated policy within the App or on the store listing and update the “Effective date” at the top. Continued use after changes indicates acceptance.

15. Legal disclosures and law enforcement

We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal processes (court orders, subpoenas), or to protect rights, property, safety, or prevent fraud. We will attempt to notify you unless legally prohibited.

16. Third-party links and integrations

The App may link to or integrate with third-party services (for example, ad pages, external websites). This Privacy Policy does not apply to third parties. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you use.

19. Additional notes about this app’s behavior (technical)

  • Ad integration: Ads are provided by third parties (e.g., AdMob). These third parties may combine information collected from the App with other data sources in accordance with their privacy policies. 21. Final remarks

Thank you for using PDF Editor. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how we process data. This policy aims to be clear and comprehensive but is not legal advice. If you need the policy adapted for a specific jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, or others) or transformed into a shorter Play Store privacy section, Terms of Service, or a user-facing consent screen, tell me which format and jurisdiction you want, and I will prepare that text for you.
